UAN/PF/ESIC accounts

Last updated November 30, 2022 · Tushar Agarwal

UAN stands for Universal Account Number. It is a 12-digit number that every employee contributing to EPF has. The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) allots it. An employee's UAN remains the same throughout their life, irrespective of the number of times they change jobs.

Employees' State Insurance (abbreviated as ESI) is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme for Indian workers. The fund is managed by the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).
