Manage bonuses

HRStop lets you add the bonus to which employees are entitled according to the organization's policies. You can pay the bonus in advance, with the period selected automatically or manually for a particular period.


Follow the steps below to trigger a bonus for employees:

  1. Navigate to Control Panel → Payroll → Bonus.
  2. A new page opens, where you can enter the bonus details.
  3. Enter the Title of the bonus.
  4. Select the Employee to whom you want to add the bonus.
  5. Select the Credit mode:
    1. Automatic lets you add the bonus for a specified period. The payment is credited according to the defined pay frequency.
      1. Pay frequency option is available if you choose Automatic as the credit mode. You can specify the frequency of the payment as Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly and Yearly.
    2. Manual lets you add the bonus for the employee for a specific future month with a predefined amount. You can enter the amount to be paid to the employee as a bonus in a specific month and disburse it when the payroll for that month is processed.
      1. Disbursed Amount option is available when Manual is selected as the credit mode. Specify the amount to be paid to the employee as the bonus.
      2. Payroll Month is the month in which the bonus is added to the salary when payroll is processed for that month.
      3. Select the Transaction Status (Pending/ Paid).
  6. Bonus period is the period for which the bonus is entitled.
  7. Bonus Entitled is the amount the employee is paid as per company policy.
  8. Payout Period is the period in which the bonus is paid.
  9. You can add additional information in the Notes section for future reference.
  10. Click the Save button to trigger the bonus.

The added bonus appears in the table below. You can change an active bonus, including its payout period and amount, by clicking the Edit icon in the Actions column. You can also bulk upload bonuses by clicking the Import Bonus button in the action bar.
