PF in payroll

Last updated November 30, 2022 · Tushar Agarwal

Provident Fund is normally 12% of the employee's salary. It is contributed by both the employee and the employer. For any manual changes, the admin can go to PF settings.

To configure PF in payroll, add the predefined PF component from the Statutory Components drop-down in the salary template. PF is then automatically calculated, deducted from the employee's salary and included under 80C. Make sure you configure the payroll settings under Statutory Info in Control Panel → Settings → Payroll.

To configure PF in payroll:

  1. Navigate to Control Panel → Payroll → Salary Template.

  2. Click the edit icon of the respective salary template.

  3. Click Next to go to the Pay components section.

  4. Scroll down to the Statutory Components section.

  5. Select the option from the field's drop-down.

  6. Select the Pay Frequency and the Visibility, and click Next to finish the process.

All changes take effect instantly.
