Dual approval ensures a leave request goes through two levels of validation—typically first by the reporting manager, then by the HR/Admin. This provides better oversight and accountability, especially in organizations with layered hierarchies or sensitive leave policies.

-
Save Your Changes
- Click Update/Save to apply the dual approval workflow to the selected leave category.
What the Employee & Approvers Will See
- Employee: After submitting a leave request, the status will reflect as “Pending” until acted upon.
- Manager: The manager approves, and the status changes to Manager Approved.
- Admin/HR: Final approver completes the cycle by changing the status to Approved.
Best Practice Tips
- Apply dual approval only to leave categories that require higher validation (e.g., Leave Encashment, Long-Term Leaves).
- Clearly communicate the approval stages to employees so they understand the delay in final approval.
- Use notifications to keep both approvers in the loop to avoid processing delays.
