Overview:
Sometimes, not all employees are required to fill timesheets. HRStop’s Configure Timesheet Exceptions feature allows you to exempt individuals or entire departments/designations from mandatory timesheet submission.
Navigation Path:
Control Panel → Timesheet → Configure Timesheet Exceptions
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Open “Configure Timesheet Exceptions” Page
- Located inside the Timesheet module for admins.
2. Set Exceptions Based On Criteria
You can choose from the following:
Exception Type | When to Use |
---|---|
Employee Level | Specific individuals (e.g., CEO, external consultants). |
Department Level | E.g., Admin or Facilities staff who don’t track hours. |
Designation Level | E.g., Senior Management not required to log time. |
3. Save the Configuration
- Once selections are made, click Save.
- These employees will no longer see the timesheet submission requirement in their portal.
Example Use Case:
- A company exempts HR and Admin departments from timesheet entry.
- Designation-level rule exempts Directors and VPs.
Important Notes:
- Exempted employees will still be able to view the Timesheet tab (if not disabled) but will not be prompted to submit entries.
- Exceptions override general configuration settings.
Best Practices:
- Review exception list quarterly to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Combine exceptions with LOP rules to prevent payroll errors.
- Communicate clearly to exempted employees about their exemption status.
