Purpose
Reward Categories help HR teams define types of rewards and assign value per point for each category. Categories also support customization based on employee demographics, which allows for flexible reward structures across different groups.
Steps to Add and Manage Reward Categories
Step 1: Navigate to Engagement Settings
- Go to: Control Panel → Settings → Engagement
Step 2: Locate “Reward Categories”
- In the top-right corner, click on the “Reward Category” button
- You’ll see a list of previously created categories (if any)
Step 3: Click “+ Add Reward Category”
This opens the form to define a new reward category.
Step 4: Fill in the Required Fields
Field | Description |

Title | Name of the reward category (e.g., “Employee of the Month”, “Goal Achievement”, “Peer Appreciation”) |
Description | Brief explanation of the category’s use or purpose |
Reward Type | Choose whether this is an automated reward (from rules) or manual (granted by admin) |
Reward Mode | Select how rewards are issued: |

| Point Value Mapping | Define how much 1 point is worth
(e.g., 1 point = ₹10 or 100 points = ₹1000) |
| Status | Choose Active or Inactive |
| Tags / Filters (Optional) | Apply demographics like: - Citizenship
- Tags (e.g., Intern, Manager, Sales)
- Business Unit
- Department
- Location
This ensures the reward category is only applicable to eligible employee groups.
Step 5: Click “Save”
The new reward category is now available and can be selected when:
- Crediting reward points
- Running automated reward workflows
- Allowing redemptions
