How to Add Custom Fields Columns in the Asset Category

Adding custom fields in the Asset Category allows you to store additional asset-specific information, such as processor type, RAM, model, and more. This feature enhances flexibility in asset management by enabling you to capture detailed information unique to your organization.

To add custom fields in the Assets Module, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your system and navigate to the Control Panel/ Assets and click on View/Add to view a list of all company assets. ( You will be able to access this page if you are the authorized admin for this module).
  2. In the top-right corner of the screen, click on Asset Categories. Here, you can create new asset categories or manage existing ones.
  3. When creating or editing a category, provide the necessary details.
  4. In the Additional Info section, you can add custom fields for each category. For each custom field, you’ll need to:
    • Title: Name of the custom field (e.g., "Processor", "RAM").
    • Description: Add any additional details or instructions.
    • Mandatory Option: Choose whether the field is mandatory or optional.
    • After filling in the required information, click Add to add the custom field. Repeat this process to add multiple fields as needed.

Note: Once the custom fields are added to a category, whenever you add a new asset for this category, these custom fields will automatically appear in the assets Add page, allowing you to enter the relevant asset details.
