Managing Employee Skills - by Manager Access

Aug 06, 2025

HRStop enables managers to view and manage the skills of employees within their reporting structure. This includes reviewing skill entries, approving or rejecting pending submissions, deleting approved skills, and viewing the complete update history of each skill. These capabilities help ensure that skill records remain accurate and reflect validated competencies across the team.

Managers can take action on employees who are either:

  • Direct reportees, or
  • Under the reporting line hierarchy

Steps to Access Employee Skill Records

  1. Login to HRStop using your Manager credentials.
  2. Navigate to Main Panel > My Team > Skills.
  3. Use the Employee Filter to view:
    • All employees in your reporting hierarchy, or
    • A specific employee’s submitted skills
  4. To view detailed skills for a specific employee:
    • Click on the employee’s name (hyperlinked) in the skill list
    • This opens the employee-specific skill page

Managing Skills from the Employee Skill Page

From the detailed skill page, managers can:

  • View all skills: Both approved and pending
  • Approve or Reject Pending Skills:
    • ✅ Click Approve to accept the skill
    • ❌ Click Reject to decline it
  • Bulk Approve All Skills:
    • Use the green Approve All (✓) button to approve all pending skills for that employee
  • Delete Approved Skills:
    • Use the 🗑️ Delete icon to remove previously approved skills, if necessary

Skill History Log

For every skill listed, HRStop maintains a complete history of changes, approvals, and updates.

To view the skill log:

  • Click the clock icon next to the skill’s status
  • A pop-up will display:
    • All historical changes to rating or experience
    • Dates of updates
    • Names of users who made or approved each change

This provides full visibility into how an employee’s skills have evolved over time.

Important Notes

  • Managers can take action only for employees who are either direct reportees or within their reporting line hierarchy
  • All changes made by managers are recorded and immediately reflected in system reports and profiles
