Organizations often need to change their company name due to mergers, acquisitions, rebranding, or compliance requirements. Such updates are not just cosmetic; they affect how employees log in, how payslips and compliance documents are generated, and how the organization is represented in day-to-day HR operations.
Since HRStop is the HRMS portal employees use daily, it is important that the new organization name reflects correctly across the system. HRStop allows administrators to manage these changes so that branding, payroll, and compliance outputs remain consistent.
Who Can Make This Change
Only users with authorized Admin rights can update the organization name in HRStop.
Step 1: Update Organization Name (Branding and Portal View)
To reflect the new name on the employee login page and navigation panel:
- Login as Admin.
- Go to: Control Panel → Settings → General.
- Update the Company Name field.
- Click Update to save changes.
Step 2: Update Organization Name in Payroll and Compliance Records
Payroll and compliance outputs such as payslips and statutory reports must also display the correct company name.
- Go to: Control Panel → Settings → Payroll.
- Scroll down to Payroll Info.
- Update the Company Name.
- Click Update.
Once saved, all future payslips and compliance reports will carry the updated company name. Previously generated payslips remain unchanged to preserve data integrity. If needed, administrators may regenerate older payslips. (Refer to the detailed article on Regenerating Payslips in Bulk for steps.)
For Multi-Entity Organizations
If your HRStop account covers multiple legal entities, you must update the name for each specific entity as required:
- Go to: Control Panel → Settings → Modules.
- Scroll to Enterprise Features → Setup Company Name.
- From the entity list, click Edit next to the desired entity.
- Update the name and click Save/Update.
This ensures that only the relevant entity reflects the updated name in payroll and compliance outputs.
Optional: Subdomain Update
Some organizations prefer to align the login URL (subdomain) with the new name. For example:
Old: abc.hrstop.com
New: xyz.hrstop.com
To request a subdomain change:
- Reach out to the HRStop Support Team.
- Ensure the new subdomain is unique and available.
- Communicate the new login URL to employees, as it will affect both the web portal and the mobile app.
Where the Change Reflects
Once updated, the new company name will appear in:
- Employee login portal
- Payroll settings and future payslips
- Compliance reports
- Multi-entity records (if applicable)
- Subdomain URL (if requested)
