On duty: Overview

Dec 09, 2019

On Duty (OD) Leave is used when an employee is away from the office for official purposes—such as attending a client meeting, training, or off-site task—during regular working hours. Instead of marking a casual or paid leave, the employee applies for On Duty to indicate presence at an alternate official location.

Employees can submit their On Duty leave requests directly through the system. These requests are then routed to the reporting manager or admin for review and approval. Once approved, the request status is updated as Approved in the employee’s Main Panel.

Enabling the On Duty Module

To allow employees and admins to access and use the On Duty feature, the module must be enabled in the system settings.

Steps to Enable:

  1. Go to:
Control Panel → Settings → Modules
  2. Scroll to the MISCELLANEOUS section.
  3. Check the box for:
    Enable On Duty Leave Module
  4. Click on Update to save changes.

Once enabled:

  • The On Duty tab will appear in the Apply Leave section of the employee’s Self-Service Portal. Both employees and admins can raise, manage, and approve On Duty requests as per their roles.
