How to Fill the Timesheet – Weekly View (Employee Panel)

Dec 19, 2019

Overview:

The Weekly View in HRStop’s Timesheet module allows employees to record total hours worked each day across the week for assigned projects and tasks. This is ideal for those working on predictable schedules or summarizing work at week’s end.

Navigation Path:

Employee Panel → Timesheet → Submit → Weekly View

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Select the Week

  • Use the calendar picker to choose the week you want to log hours for.
  • The days of the selected week will populate automatically in a grid format.

2. Select Details for Each Entry

For each row you want to fill in the timesheet:

FieldDescription
ClientSelect the client associated with the project. This is mandatory if client tracking is enabled.
ProjectChoose the assigned project from the dropdown list.
Task
Select the task (if enabled) related to the work done. Examples: Development, QA Testing.

Only projects and tasks assigned to you will appear in the dropdown.

3. Enter Daily Hours

  • Fill in the number of hours you worked on that project each day of the week (Monday to Sunday).
  • Example: Mon - 4h, Tue - 5h, etc.

4. Add Multiple Projects (if needed)

  • Click “Add Row” to include another project or task for the same week.

5. Save Your Entries

  • Use the Save button if you want to continue filling later or need manager feedback before submission.

6. Submit for Approval

  • Once complete, click Submit for Approval to finalize the weekly timesheet.

You cannot edit a timesheet after submitting it unless your admin allows it.

Notes:

  • The total weekly hours will automatically calculate based on your entries.
  • If client/task mapping is mandatory and left blank, the system will show an error.

Best Practices:

  • Use Weekly View if you work on fixed schedules or repetitive tasks.
  • Keep track of your actual hours daily to make weekly entry easier.
  • Submit timesheets before the week's end to avoid backdated restrictions.
