Creating and Managing Attendance Shifts

HRStop makes it easy for admins to create, assign, and manage employee shifts. With the right configurations in place, the system can automatically handle shift-based attendance tracking. Follow the steps below to set up and manage attendance shifts.

How to Create a New Attendance Shift:

  1. Go to: Control Panel -> Settings -> Attendance -> Shifts.
  2. Fill in the Shift Details:
    • Code: Enter a unique code for the shift.
    • Title: Provide a name for the shift.
    • Description: Add a short description if needed.
    • Timing: Define the start and end times using the 24-hour format.
      => The system will automatically calculate the shift duration.
  3. Set as Default (Optional):
    • Select the checkbox "Make this a default shift" if you want this shift to be assigned by default.
  4. Click on “Show More” to configure additional settings:
    • Start of the Day: Define when the shift day begins.
      (Useful for night shifts—any punch before this time counts for the previous day.)
    • Allowance: Enter any special shift allowance (e.g., ₹100 for night shifts).
    • Weekly Offs:
      • Select the day(s) and frequency (e.g., 1st and 3rd Saturday).
      • Click + Add to insert more, or Delete to remove.
    • Half Days: Define similar rules for half-days.
    • Break Hours:
      • Add time slots for breaks.
      • Use + Add to include more breaks or Delete to remove.
  5. Finalize:
    • Click Save to add the new shift.
    • Use Reset if you want to clear the entered details.

=> A success message will appear, and the new shift will be listed below with options to Edit or Delete.

Editing Existing Shifts:

  1. Navigate to: Control Panel -> Settings -> Attendance -> Shifts.
  2. View Existing Shifts:
    • Scroll down to see the list of all current shifts.
  3. Edit Shift:
    • Click the Edit button next to the shift you want to modify.
    • The details will populate in the upper form.
  4. Update Details:
    • Make the required changes.
    • Click Show More if you need to update weekly offs, half days, or break hours.
  5. Save Changes:
    • Click Update to apply your changes.

With these easy steps, you can effectively manage employee shifts within HRStop, ensuring smooth and automated attendance tracking.
